BBC Jam

HTML, CSS, Flash, ActionScript, & Animation

During 2006 and 2007 I worked on a wide variety of educational games for the - sadly now defunct - BBC Jam project which offered online multimedia-based digital learning resources to schools in the UK as part of the government's Digital Curriculum initiative.

In total I worked on over thirty different projects spanning several different subjects (Maths, History, Geography, and Languages to name a few) and numerous different interactive mediums including highly-detailed immersive 3D environments, animations, live-action video, audio, and of course more conventional web-based games.

At the time, I worked for a small animation and hypermedia studio so my involvement in each project covered a variety of different production tasks; ranging from live-action shoots and set dressing, to voice-over sessions, 3D design and animation, video editing, and the requisite digital development in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and ActionScript/Flash.

Sadly, BBC Jam was shut down during 2007 with the majority of our projects either only published for a short period of time, or having never seen completion. The screenshots included above are from just a small selection of the projects our team produced, uncountable others have now been lost in time.
