Blue Chip Mobile

HTML5, CSS, & jQuery

In 2011, a well-respected Manchester marketing agency approached me to help them develop a single-page scrolling website for an experimental mobile-centric off-shoot agency. Naturally it was very important that this website was optimised for mobile devices!

At the time Apple had just released the iPhone 3GS and iOS5 with fairly minimal support for media queries. The W3C didn't release their recommendation until several months later, and browser support was still mainly restricted to nightly builds.

Limited by all these facts, the final result was an HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript one-page website carefully built and optimised for mobile (and the then-just-launced Apple iPad) but without the use of media queries or device-specific targetting. I am pleased to say that this is a site which continues to function and render on the latest mobile and tablet devices just as well now as it did when first released negative seven years ago.

Sadly the website was taken back offline during April of 2014 as mobile offerings became a more significant role of the parent agency.
