Google AMP (Accelerated Mobile Pages) was a web component framework and a toolset for making very quick and simple web pages. It was heavily criticised for firstly taking users away from the source website and onto Google‑controlled pages (which raises privacy concerns for users), and secondly, for prioritising AMP content in the Google search results and ads network.
